BBC Radio 4 Recording for Bloomsday

As an Irish girl abroad, this year I had a rather wonderful St Patrick’s Day. It didn’t start well, with the Ireland v England rugby match on in the afternoon, I woke up to the ubiquitous white jersey – even in my own home. But I had the pleasure of spending the day at BBC Broadcasting House recording some songs for a production of Ulysses which will be aired on Bloomsday (16th of June). The program will be broadcast throughout the day and the music I recorded will be used to bring the listener into the world of Stephen Dedalus, Molly Bloom and of course early 20th century Dublin. It was an appropriate way to spend a thoroughly enjoyable few hours immersed in the very best of Ireland and certainly made it easier to swallow our sporting defeat later on.
